Behind the Streams: Who is Alberta Recruiting?
The Alberta Opportunity Stream is made for full-time temporary foreign workers in Alberta who have a valid job offer from an eligible local employer. Other than that, the Dedicated Health Care Pathway focuses on candidates with job offers in eligible healthcare roles.
The Law Enforcement Pathway, launched last year, recruits candidates with offers from members of the Alberta Association of Chiefs of Police, supporting local police recruitment needs. The priority sectors routes under the Alberta Express Entry Stream prioritise skilled professionals in construction (with relevant Alberta job offers and occupations listed on their Express Entry profile).
Provincial Nomination Allocations and Updates
Alberta’s AAIP began in 2025 with 4,875 nomination slots, but the federal government increased this to 6,603 slots in September. These new spaces have been redistributed across various streams.
As of early November, Alberta has issued 5,137 nominations out of its 2025 allocation, leaving only 1,466 spaces remaining for the year.
