1. Canada Child Benefit (CCB)
The Canada Child Benefit (CCB) is the first key CRA payment arriving this August, following a notable boost in July 2025. It provides tax-free monthly support to families with children under 18, helping them manage everyday expenses. This increase comes at a time when affordability challenges continue to affect households across Ontario.
CCB Payment Amounts Increase in 2025
After the July 2025 update, the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) offers slightly higher payments to help families cope with inflation. The benefit amounts vary based on the child's age and the family鈥檚 net income, ensuring more support for those who need it most.
- Children under 6 years: Up to CAD 7,997 annually (CAD 667/month), a 2.7% rise from the previous CAD 7,787.
- Children aged 6-17 years: Up to CAD 6,748 annually (CAD 562/month), up from CAD 6,570 with a similar 2.7% increase.

2. Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB)
The Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB) is the second enhanced CRA payment, updated in July 2025 to offer greater support. It brings together three key credits - Ontario Sales Tax Credit, Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit, and the Northern Ontario Energy Credit. This combined benefit helps ease the cost of living by covering essentials like sales tax, home energy bills, and property-related expenses.
Updated OTB Benefit Amounts for 2025
After the July 2025 adjustment, Ontario residents will see slightly higher Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB) payments.
- Ontario Sales Tax Credit (OSTC): Up to CAD 375 per adult or child each year, up from CAD 360, a 4.2% increase.
- Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit (OEPTC): Up to CAD 1,300 annually for non-seniors and CAD 1,480 for seniors, rising from CAD 1,248 and CAD 1,421, respectively.
- Northern Ontario Energy Credit (NOEC): Up to $190 for individuals and CAD 290 for families, increased from CAD 180 and CAD 277, a 5.6% boost.

3. Canada Pension Plan (CPP)

CPP and OAS Payments for 2025
Following the January update, the maximum monthly CPP payment at age 65 rose to CAD 1,475, reflecting a 3% increase from the previous CAD 1,433.
