Ontario is moving forward with expanding the list of regulated healthcare professionals in order to get licensed and start working in the province if they’ve already been certified in another part of Canada.
Also, the province wants to remove major interprovincial barriers for 16 more regulated healthcare occupations, making Ontario’s “As of Right” regulations more inclusive than ever before.
What’s Changing with New Legislation for Healthcare Professionals?
Eligible practitioners who are already certified in another province will soon be able to get authorized to work in Ontario in as little as 10 days after validation of their credentials, instead of waiting up to six months as is currently required.
For physicians and nurses, Ontario is focusing on issuing certificates in just two business days, thanks to ongoing collaboration with key regulatory colleges.
