Starting May 1, 2025 Nova Scotia's immigration and population growth department is launching a new digital platform for handling Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) endorsement applications. This system is called the Labour Market Priority Streams System (LaMPSS) which replaces the current API online portal and aims to deliver a faster, more user friendly and error resistant experience for designated employers.
Enhanced Features For Streamline Submissions
LaMPSS brings a host of improvements that make submitting endorsement applications more efficient. The platform features mobile compatibility, built in prompts to reduce common errors, and a simplified user interface.
One of the most notable upgrades allows Authorized Signing Officers to delegate responsibilities to both organizational and immigration representatives across multiple applications hence, boosting flexibility and organizational control
Accessing The New Portal - LaMPSS
Designated AIP employers who plan to submit endorsement applications on or after May 1, 2025 must request access to the new system by filling out an access request form. This step is essential to have their organizations authenticated and set up in LaMPSS.
*It's important to note that the process of obtaining an AIP designated itself remains unchanged and continues to operate through the current portal
LaMPSS Transition Timeline And Application Continuity
The current AIP online system accepted applications until April 30, 2025 at 11:59 PM. All submissions before this cutoff will be processed without requiring resubmission. Existing designations will remain valid, however, designated employers must still request access to the new system to continue submitting endorsements after the transition.

Why The Shift to LaMPSS?
The modernization effort is part of a broader initiative to enhance the IPG department's operational efficiency and service delivery. After reviewing the effectiveness of AIP online, since its inception, LaMPSS emerged as a more reliable, cost effective and robust solution.
The platform offers a digital edge over pre 2022 methods, like emails and physical documentation, streamlining how employees in Atlantic Canada hire and retain international talent.
