West Kootenay in British Columbia has published its list of designated employers under the Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP). This opens new PR opportunities for skilled foreign workers in smaller communities.
The West Kootenay region, located in southeastern British Columbia, has officially released its list of designated employers under the Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP). This region includes communities like Nelson, Castlegar, Trail, Kaslo, and Nakusp, all falling within the program鈥檚 defined boundaries. The area stretches from Rock Creek to Yahk in the south and reaches as far north as Hughes Peak and Duncan Lake.

Eligibility Requirements for West Kootenay RCIP
To qualify for the West Kootenay Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP), foreign nationals must secure a job offer from an approved employer in a listed priority occupation. This offer must be supported through a recommendation by the local community before applying for permanent residency.
In addition to the job offer, applicants must meet specific work experience, education, language, and financial requirements to ensure they can successfully settle in the region.
Key requirements include,
- Minimum of one year (1,560 hours) of relevant work experience within the past three years.
