Canada plans to raise proof of funds requirements for Express Entry candidates starting July 28, 2025. Explore the changing requirements and new thresholds along with the process to update the proof of funds in your Express Entry profiles.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced an increase in the minimum proof of funds required for Express Entry candidates starting July 28, 2025. The annual update also reflects applicable, Low Income Cut Off (LICO) of 50% to both new and existing profiles in the Express Entry pool.
Updated Proof of Funds Requirement for Express Entry in 2025
On July 7, 2025 IRCC released the revised settlement funds table highlighting the minimum financial support applicants would need to show based on the family size. The updated breakdown is as follows:

These amounts apply even if your spouse or children are not accompanying you to Canada, or are already Canadian citizens or permanent residents

To stay eligible under the updated criteria, candidates must update their settlement funds In their Express Entry profile on or before July 28, 2025. You can update your profiles following the steps mentioned below
Step 1: Login to your IRCC secure account.
Step 2: Edit your profile specifically, the proof of funds section
Step 3: Enter the updated amount based on your family size
Step 4: Submit the changes and ensure all other details (language scores, work history, etc) are up to date.
Ensure to keep your profile accurate and updated to stay eligible for multiple programs within the Express Entry system, as incorrect or outdated data can lead to disqualification or delays
Express Entry Draws in July 2025
The most recent draw occurred on July 7, 2025, inviting 356 candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), for which the minimum CRS score required to qualify was 750, and the tie-breaking rule applied to profiles submitted before March 19, 2025, at 4:09 PM UTC.
