Canada Holds First Express Entry Draw in July 2025, Issues 356 ITAs

In the first draw of July 2025, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued invitations with 356 ITAs through the Express Entry system for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates. The July 7 Express Entry draw noted the first invitation round of the month, similar to a recent pattern of alternating draws. It followed a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw on June 26, a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw on June 23, another CEC round on June 12, and a smaller PNP draw on June 10.
To be eligible for this draw, one must have:
- CRS Cut-Off: 750
- Eligibility: Profiles submitted before March 19, 2025, 04:09 UTC

From the middle of May 2025, Express Entry draws have followed a predictable pattern, alternating between Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) invitations, with only one category-based draw during this period. This constant alternation suggests a potential shift in Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada鈥檚 (IRCC) selection approach, which may continue in the near future.
The impact of these targeted draws is already visible in the Express Entry pool. For the first time in at least six months, the number of candidates in the 501-600 and 600+ Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score ranges has declined month-over-month, a clear indication that recent draws are effectively reducing the backlog of high-scoring profiles.
