The Golden visa program has turned out to be one of the most in-demand long-term residency options for Indian nationals, who account for a significant share of such visas issued to investors, entrepreneurs, innovators, scientists, and outstanding academics and artists.
Although the golden visa program has generally attracted high-net-worth individuals, such as investors and entrepreneurs, the UAE embassy generally nominates people with specialized talents, including academics, scientists, journalists, athletes, and humanitarian activists.
This approach aligns with the UAE's transformation from a traditional employment destination to a sustainable hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and cross-border opportunities for Indian talent.
While the UAE does not publicly release nationality-wise figures, Indian applicants are noted to represent a "significant share" of those seeking Golden Visas. This interest is seen among high-net-worth individuals and professionals looking for long-term stability and tax-efficient access to global markets.
“The remarkable interest in the UAE's Golden Visa programme from Indian nationals is a testament to the depth and diversity of our bilateral relationship, one that extends far beyond business and trade into culture, education, science and innovation. It reflects the enduring people-to-people connections that continue to strengthen the UAE–India partnership, and our shared vision for a future built on opportunity and collaboration, " UAE Ambassador Abdulnasser Alshaali commented on the trend.

The Golden Visa Program offers:
- 10-Year Investor Visa (deposit AED 2 million in accredited funds; new categories include charitable contributors and Waqf donors)
- 5-Year Property Investor Visa (property valued at AED 2 million)
- Visas for Specialised Talents (doctors, scientists, STEM specialists, artists, executives, engineers, athletes)
- Visas for Outstanding Students and Humanitarian Pioneers (5 or 10 years depending on category)
The UAE embassy in New Delhi processes all Golden Visa applications directly. While they work with specialist service providers to enhance efficiency, the role of these providers is strictly limited to facilitating the submission and verification of documents. All final visa decisions remain with the UAE government authorities.
